In 1982 Wes Craven, yes that one, made one of the first comic book movies: Swamp Thing. It wasn't exactly good. It also wasn't terrible, it was a misfire on what could have been a good semi-horror film.
Currently Swamp Thing has a new series running on the DC Universe app, but they've already canceled it; after the first episode premiered. Do yourself a favor and check out the show then spam DC/WB that you want more of it.
